Star Surfer
| Each week in third grade, one student will have the opportunity to be the"Star Surfer." I have a special bulletin board set up to display pictures and information about your child. Each Friday before your child's week, I will send home a Star packet for you to do with your child. Please return the packet on the following Monday. Your child will share his/her materials on that day. |
| Within the packet, your student will be required to make a timeline about important events from his/her life, two large collages that represent important aspects of your child’s life (favorite things, hobbies, family members, friends, etc.), and answer the following prompts on the six note cards provided: |
My favorite book is… My favorite food is… My favorite hobby is… When I grow up I want to… My favorite thing about myself is… My favorite _________ is |
In addition to having a bulletin board, the Star Surfer will have a number of other privileges throughout the week. He/she will get to be the line leader. He/she will also have the opportunity to choose their favorite Picture book to read aloud to the class. |
